A Look Inside My Oily Day

I thought it'd be fun to share with you guys how I use essential oils in a typical day and why I do what I do. There are so many essential oils to choose from that it can seem overwhelming at first but now I couldn't imagine life without oils anymore! These oils are so ingrained in my routine now, it is like second nature and we love them. Without further ado, here is my daily oily life.



MORNING

As soon as I wake up in the morning, I roll on my Stress Away roller & my Progressence Plus serum. Stress Away is a blend of vanilla, copaiba, lime, cedarwood, ocotea and lavender. It smells amazing and I wear it as perfume every single day. Seriously, everyone always comments on how great I smell! Progressence Plus is an oil that I use as hormonal support. It is a blend of wild yam extract, cedarwood, bergamot, peppermint and clove. 

Next, I head into my kitchen to get going for the day. I start out my diffusing my absolute favorite combination ever, Grapefruit + Peppermint. It smells amazing and it seriously starts my day out right. After getting the diffuser going, I fill up a glass with 2 ounces of my Ningxia Red drink. Ningxia Red is an antioxidant supplement drink that helps me with energy and immune support. This is what the Young Living website states about Ningxia Red:

After drinking my 2 oz. of Ningxia, I take my daily vitamins. I currently take a Fish oil supplement, Calcium Plus and a Rhodiola supplement (for stress support) that were personally chosen for my lifestyle from an awesome company called Care/Of. All I had to do was take a quick quiz that told me what I should be taking daily based on my lifestyle. Michael just took the quiz too and has already ordered his first month of vitamins! In addition, I take Super B tablets from Young Living. Did you know that the body doesn't naturally store B vitamins and that they have to be replenished daily? I didn't! I've noticed that by taking these everyday, my energy is so much better and I don't get the afternoon slump I used to either.



AFTERNOON

In the afternoon, I usually make myself a protein shake to enjoy with a small lunch and if I can muster up the energy or have the time, I'll try to fit in a workout before hand! I usually have to make myself a smoothie or protein shake of some kind during the day to get in enough calories and nutrients, otherwise I end up skipping meals since we're so busy and that isn't good.  I really love the protein from Young Living since I know for SURE there are no additives or GMOs in it. After that I usually fill up the diffusers again with another combination of oils to fit my mood or any needs I have. Lately since the whether has been warm these are some combinations I am almost always using:

  • 3 drops each of Lavender + Lemon + Peppermint [great for this seasonal annoyances]
  • 4 drops each of Grapefruit + Joy
  • 2 drops each Lemon + Orange + Lime + Stress Away
  • 3 drops each of Stress Away + Citrus Fresh + Eucalyptus Globulous [so so fresh & revitalizing]


NIGHT

Finally for my nighttime routine! I always fill up the diffusers in the bedrooms before we start our bedtime routines. My favorite combo for Ryker's room right now is: Peace & Calming + Lavender. I swear it is what keeps him sound asleep all through the night! For our room, I usually always gravitate to my standard Lavender + Cedarwood because it smells so good and always helps me fall asleep. After filling the diffusers and getting Ryker to bed, I always take off all of my makeup from the day using my trusty Jojoba oil [single-handedly stopped my breakouts!] and then wash my face using my favorite Lemon + Sandalwood bar soap, it smells soooo dreamy & really cleanses my skin without over drying it. Then, I tone my skin with Thayer's Witch Hazel in Rose & apply my Glowy Skin Roller [10 drops each: Frankincense, Lavender and Geranium + 8 drops Patchouli and Myrhh]. Once my makeup is off, I brush my teeth using my Thieves Dentarome Ultra toothpaste that is so so good and contains only naturally derived ingredients, no chemicals! I apply some Cel-Lite Magic massage oil all over as moisturizer [helps smoothe & tone skin too!] and then apply a couple more drops of my Progessence Plus. I roll on my delicious Tranquil roller which contains oils such as Lavender, Cedarwood and Valerian to help me doze of to a sound sleep.

A couple other diffuser combos I love for bedtime:

  • 3 drops each of Valor/Valor II + Orange
  • 3 drops each of Sacred Mountain + Cedarwood
