The Man Behind the Blog | a Q&A with Michael

Hey there friends! I am especially excited for today's post because I won't be the one chatting your ear off๐Ÿ˜‰ I am leaving the blogging to "Mr. Kamp Mama" today and letting him answer some questions about himself, me (uh oh) and our relationship! I can't take credit for this fun idea because my girlfriend Robin of Janebelle.Space, just did this feature on her blog with her husband. You have to go check it out because it is hilarious and totally inspired me to do the same! I reached out on Instagram about what you guys would like to hear from my handsome husband and you guys killed it with your questions. Seriously, y'all had sooooo many good ones! I think part of the reason why these posts are so much fun is because its a way to get to know people a little better and especially since Michael plays a behind the scenes roll with this blog it's fun to get to showcase him a little. So without further adieu, here he is the man behind the blog. Take it away babe!

Hey guys its Michael.  I want to start by saying I'm not particularly happy about doing this sh*t.  I like to think I'm a fairly simple person who really doesn't give a f*ck about what people think about me or the way I conduct myself.  I'm a genuine guy who will bend over backwards for my family and friends.  I don't believe respect is earned so much as kept.  If you can keep my respect then you must be doing something right.  Mandi always tells me that I'm one of the most brutally honest people she knows and I'm just fine with that.  I love my family more than anything and will go to the ends of the earth to provide for and protect them.  If you don't like what I have to say or the way I say it then don't bother me because at the end of the day nobody cares so just work harder.

Q: What do you do for a living?

A: I'm a Union Fucken Wireman (Electrician)

(My apologies for the language but this is 100% Michael and I didn't feel right not sharing every little bit of his rugged nature ๐Ÿ˜…)

Q: What is your favorite hobby?

A: Working.  I may not always get paid but I'm always working either on the house, on cars or trucks, fabricating or I'm really at work.

Q: How did you & Mandi meet and what was your first impression of her?

A: We met in High School through some mutual friends.  I thought she was cute and that's pretty much the only reason I wanted to talk to her.

(This one made me laugh the most๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚)

Q: What is your favorite thing about Mandi (aside from her killer good looks๐Ÿ˜‰)?

A: She is a great Mother to our children

Q: You guys were high school sweethearts, what is it like to watch each other grow over the years?

A: It has been interesting to say the least.  We were pretty young when we started dating and to look back at where and how we started to where we are at now is pretty crazy.

Q: What are your thoughts on being an "Instagram husband" and Mandi blogging?

A: I don't like the title.  I'm a blue collar worker who works his ass off every damn day to support his family.  I'm not some guy that wants his whole life plastered all over the internet.  This is Mandi's way of connecting with people not mine.  I take pictures of my wife when she asks for my help, not because I want credit on Instagram but because I love my wife and I wouldn't be able to work and support my family the way I do without her.

Q: What is one thing you absolutely HATE that Mandi wears?

A: It would be easier to list the few things that i like her to wear
1. Converse, Vans, or heels
2. Jeans or jean shorts
3. T-shirts or tank tops

(He's a simple man LOL)

Q: Tell us your favorite thing about being a dad:

A: My favorite part about being a dad is the way my son looks at me when I get home from work.  I'm usually dirty, tired, and pissed off from sitting in traffic but all that fades away the second I walk through the front door and my son yells "DAAAADDD".  He looks at me like I'm a super hero that just saved him from a crumbling world and I'm emerging from the dust and rubble, beaten and battered but with just enough strength left to come home and scoop him up in my arms.

Q: What is it like to be married to Mandi?

A: It can be a roller coaster. (side note: I hate roller coasters) I wouldn't change it for the world though.  I honestly don't think there's anyone else that understands me the way she does.

Q: What is one of your favorite memories looking back on your relationship?

A: I guess I don't really have a favorite memory but more of a favorite part.  My favorite part about our relationship is when I come up with some crazy idea about buying this or rebuilding that she just shakes her head, laughs, and tells me I'm crazy.  Then we end up doing that crazy idea!

Q: How did you & Mandi come up with Ryker's name?

A: I was on break at work one day and there was a conversation going on about prison.  Someone mentioned Riker's Island and I liked the name and so did Mandi.

Q: Are you guys planning to have more kids?

A: We didn't plan the first 2 so why start now

Thanks babe for being such a good sport and making a "guest appearance" here on my blog!
